All About AR (Augmented Reality) invites young makers to step beyond the flat screen and into the 3 dimensional world of immersive storytelling. This LitKit introduces the Z-axis—depth—as a creative and technical frontier in augmented reality and spatial computing. Makers explore digital layering, animated overlays, and holographic illusions through hands-on activities, including a DIY Holobox inspired by Pepper’s Ghost and Fantasmorphia techniques. Using the AR Maker Tool app, they design and launch custom AR experiences that leap off printed markers included in the kit.

XYZ Enchanted Forest: This low-tech, high-imagination exercise introduces the fundamentals of spatial computing, perspective, and scene composition. Using frogs, fairies, mushrooms and more, makers create a 3D scene using 2D elements, by arranging characters, props, and backgrounds along the X (left/right), Y (up/down), and Z (depth) axes.
Holobox: Assemble and explore the illusions behind holographs with the LitKit Holobox and video compilation. Make your own videos and learn what subject matter and lighting makes or breaks the magic.
